Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 13 October 2025
These Terms & Conditions apply to all purchases made on our website and by telephone with AJC Electrical Appliances Ltd (“AJC”, “we”, “us”, “our”). Please read them carefully and keep a copy for your records.
1) Prices
- All prices are shown in pounds sterling (£ GBP) and include VAT, unless stated otherwise.
- Delivery and optional services (installation, recycling, etc.) are charged separately where applicable.
- We strive for accuracy; however, pricing or product information errors may occur. If an error affects your order, we will contact you to cancel and refund, or to let you choose whether to proceed at the correct price.
- The price payable is the price displayed at the time we receive your order, except where a clear error has occurred.
- If a price changes after you place an order, we cannot adjust your order to the new price.
2) Payment
- We accept most major debit and credit cards (exclusions may apply). Online payments are processed securely via our payment gateway.
- Full payment is taken when your order is created (including special-order/non-stock items).
- An invoice/receipt will be emailed if you provide a valid email address.
3) Product Availability
- All products are offered subject to availability and may be withdrawn at any time.
- If we cannot fulfil your order, we will offer an alternative or provide a full refund.
- If a product is discontinued, we may offer the nearest current equivalent. If the price differs or no suitable alternative exists, we will contact you before proceeding.
4) Delivery
- Delivery area: Northern Ireland (selected routes; some areas on scheduled days). Standard delivery charges are shown at checkout or on our Delivery page. Extra charges may apply for optional services or remote areas.
- An adult must be present to sign for delivery.
- Delivery dates/times are estimates and may be affected by stock, manufacturer delays, traffic, or vehicle issues. Please do not book installers until goods are received; we are not liable for costs arising from delays.
- If you need to change your delivery date, notify us by 12:00 noon on the working day before your scheduled delivery.
Access & Property Protection
- Standard two-person delivery is to ground floor only (unless a suitable lift is available) and includes up to 4 steps (combined inside and outside).
- For items over 70 cm wide (e.g., American-style fridge freezers, range cookers), please confirm access (doorways, halls, stairs, parking) before ordering.
- We can place items in an unobstructed room of your choice; protecting floors/fixtures is your responsibility. We cannot accept liability for damage where reasonable care is taken.
Failed Delivery Charges
A failed delivery fee may apply if:
- the order is cancelled after goods are loaded for delivery;
- insufficient/incorrect contact or address details prevent successful delivery;
- delivery is refused at the address;
- no adult is available during the agreed window; or
- access/parking restrictions were not disclosed at booking.
Once delivery is accepted at the address, you are responsible for the goods. If you later move the goods, we cannot be held responsible for any subsequent damage.
5) Installation & Recycling Services
- We offer professional installation for most freestanding appliances and old-appliance recycling at delivery (fees shown at checkout or on our Services/Delivery page).
- We do not install integrated (built-in) appliances. We can provide contact details for a trusted engineer.
- Please ensure services are booked in advance and the site is ready (clear access, appropriate power/water/waste). A revisit fee may apply if we cannot complete installation due to site issues.
6) Product Information
- We aim to keep descriptions, images and specifications accurate. Manufacturers may change features without notice; packaging and accessories may vary.
- Please check key dimensions/specifications with us before ordering if unsure.
7) Data Security & Privacy
- We take reasonable steps to keep your order and payment details secure.
- Card payments are handled by secure third-party gateways; we do not store full card details.
- For details on how we collect and use your data, please see our Privacy Policy.
8) Manufacturer’s Guarantees & Extended Warranties
- Unless stated otherwise, products include a minimum 12-month manufacturer’s parts and labour guarantee for domestic use on domestic premises.
- Guarantees do not cover misuse, accidental damage, improper installation, or unauthorised repairs.
- Keep your proof of purchase and register products with the manufacturer if required.
9) Your Right to Cancel (Online/Phone Orders)
Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, you may cancel most online/telephone purchases within 14 days of delivery.
How to Cancel
- Notify us in writing within 14 days starting the day after delivery.
- Return the goods yourself, or request a collection (collection charged at our actual cost).
- You must take reasonable care of the goods while in your possession.
Condition of Returned Goods
To receive a full refund, goods must be returned in “as new” condition:
- Unused, in original packaging with all manuals and accessories.
- Handling beyond what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics and functioning of the goods may result in a lawful deduction for diminished value.
Refunds
- Refunds are made within 14 days of receiving the goods back (or evidence of return), using the original payment method.
- We may deduct collection charges and any reduction in value due to unnecessary handling.
Exclusions
- Goods not returned in “as-new” condition (unless faulty).
- Goods that have been installed/used (unless faulty).
- Cables/plugs that have been cut or tampered with.
- Certain bespoke/special-order items where re-stocking is not possible (your statutory rights for faulty goods remain unaffected).
In-store purchases: We do not routinely offer refunds for unwanted/wrongly ordered goods purchased in store. At our discretion we may offer an exchange or store credit.
10) Faulty or Damaged Goods
- If an item arrives damaged or develops a fault within the warranty period, please contact us promptly.
- We will arrange inspection, repair, replacement or refund in line with your statutory rights and the manufacturer’s processes.
11) Klarna & Other Finance Options (If Offered)
- Where available, we may pass necessary contact and order details to the finance provider to assess eligibility and tailor payment methods.
- Your data will be processed in accordance with the provider’s privacy notice. Finance is subject to status and terms.
12) Limitation of Liability
- We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for costs incurred due to delivery delays (e.g., missed installer appointments).
- Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any matter for which liability cannot be excluded under UK law.
